In three more minutes it is the season premire of my favorite show! E.R.!!!!!! THe baby even fell asleep a half hour early, so I can watch in peace. YAY!
My sweet daughter was baptised this past Sunday. She wore a family baptismal linen gown that has been in my family for at least 3 generations. Her grandfather, my cousin and I were all baptised in it. She looked beautiful. (I will post pictures when they are uploaded) Many of our family came to the event. My Aunt and Uncle even drove from Duluth! Jamie and his family were kind enough to take the hour long trip for the event early Sunday. His son Kenny was sooo cute, he wore a tie and gave ...
Last night I went out for a little bit. George hates his kennel and he was asleep on our bed, so I shut our bedroom door to keep him from chasing the cats while I was away. When I came home it was a disaster. He somehow managed to LOCK the bedroom door. The door has a strong turn lock, not a push button. The key for the door was in a drawer in the bathroom INSIDE our room. So we tried to pick the lock to no avail, Jay had to take apart the knob, and strip the lock. Okay beig deal, we need ...
On Wendnesday mornings Jayna and I attend a LLL playgroup. (Since she is so little it is really just socialization for me!) Today we met at the MN zoo. Jayna slept through most of it but did stay awake for most of the dolphin show. We bought a year pass for our family, so hopefully as she gets older we will get to use it lots!
Now that I get to stay home with my dear daughter, Jaysen and I were looking at ways to cut expences. We decided to become a one car family. We sold my car on Thursday night. Jaysen will take our car to work, so now we only have to pay insurance on one vehicle. Plus now that I don't have transportation, I won't be tempted ti go shopping when Jayna and I are bored!!!! (That should save on spending! hehehe) I have never been with out a car, so this will be interesting!
Last Friday my poor dad had to have surgery on his kidney. They went in and removed 22 stones from just one kidney. He still has to have the stones removed from his other kidney, but they only do one at a time. 22 kidney stones, I can't even imagine the pain it was causing. Some were deeply embedded in the kidney and the tissue had to be lasered out. OUCH! I am taking to have a stint removed tommrow.. I have never seen my dad hurting so much.... Please keep him in your prayers!
In the 8 weeks since we have had our daughter we have gone through an unbelievable amount of diapers. Probably close to 500 if not more. The thought of all those going to a landfill and polluting the earth disgusts me. Not olny that but little Jayna has already had two minor diaper rashes on account that the diapers don't "breathe". So we are making the switch to cloth..... For those of you who remember the diaper, pin and rubber pants, those days are long gone. There are very fancy cloth...
My husband and I have decided that it would be better if I did not go back to work. I think Jayna and our family will benefit more by me staying home. I was only going to work three 4 hour shifts a week. But Jayna was going to go to my parents, Jay's parents or my Grandma's or sisters during my work time. It is a lot of work to get her from place to place, plus I would have to pump. The idea of taking baby out in fridgid winter weather doesn't please me either. Jaysen picked up another...
We went to the Minnesota state fair yesterday with my sister and her boyfriend. What a fun time! Jayna spent most of the time riding in the mei tai and sling worn by me or my sister. We brought the stroller which ended up working well to carry all our stuff, even though Jayna didn't ride in it much. The best part was the food. I had Kettle corn, beef jerky, frozen grapes, cider freeze, and some honey sticks. The others had more traditional fair food. Corn dogs, french fries, and lemonades....
I have a new passion. Baby wearing. Little Jayna just loves to be worn. I am now the proud owner of a moby wrap, a 4 peas baby sling and a freehand mei tai asian baby carrier. I may buy another pretty sling next week. There are so many options for wonderful ways to wear your baby. I still want to get a pouch and a woven wrap... So much fun!
We had a horrible experience this morning. As I was cutting baby Jayna's little fingernails, she wiggled and mama cut her finger! There was a little blood and a lot of tears. (Although I was crying longer then her.) I can't believe I accidently hurt my precious girl. I am the worst mom ever.
It seems like just yesterday I was whining that the summer was going by so slow. All my focus was on the fact my baby daughter had not arrived yet. What a whirlwind. I can't believe the summer is almost over! Pretty soon my husband will be back to teaching and I will have to start back at work. (part time) Jayna will be spaending three afternoons a week at grandma's and grandpas. I am distraught over this. The though of leaving my precious daughter for 12 hours a week, brings me to tea...
Why are my pets so naughty? Yesterday the puppy chewed on the ibooks power cord and when I went to pick it up I got zapped. Ouch, my arm hurt the rest of the night! Now the cord needs to be replaced. Extra expense #1. I had a meeting tonight, and I came home to find my breast pump chewed up and across the kitchen. AGAIN!!! UGH! This time the damn cat climbed into the dishwaser, and managed to break open the plastic wire basket the parts get sanitized in the dishwasher in. Now that has t...
I have not even had a chance to write or even check my email since I wrote that my Jayna was born! This last month has gone by so fast, it is unbelieveable. She is getting so big! Chubby cheeks and an extra chin! She is so fun, really starting to respond to mommy and daddy with smile and coos. She sleeps for 3-4 hours at a time now too. I am loving being a mama (though the early morning wake up and middle of the night feedings are rough.) I wish I could stop time for a while and keep her ...
