Her birth story

I woke up Sunday morning about 3:20 am with strong regular contractions. I took a shower and brought the new puppy for a walk. By 5:00 my contractions were 4 minutes apart so I woke up Jaysen and he showered. I called the Dr. and we left around 6 am, droppped the puppy off at my parents, and off to the hospital we went.
They checked me and I was dilated to four, so they gave us the good news that we were there to stay! I walked the halls stopping every few minutes to lean against Jay during contractions.
The dr came at 11:30 and broke my water. I took another walk around the floor and then the contractions were becoming to hard to walk very far. Plus they were coming one on top of another. The nurse checked me and I was still only at 5cm, so the contractions were just to close together to be doing the job of dilating me. I was hurting bad, and had started throwing up from the pain, so I decided to have a shot of Nubain for pain.
I had wanted to go totally un-medicated, but at the time I think that that was the only way I could relax enough to make my labor progress. They also started piticcon, and man did I go fast then, It seemed like no time and I felt the huge urge to push.
We called the nurse and sure enough I was at nine, but she was right there, so the nurse preped the room and called the Dr.
The Dr. had just left the hospital, and had to come back. She checked me and said I wasn't 9, I was 8 and it would be awhile. By this time I was trying all I could not to push. The dr. was really insistant I get an epidural to the point she basically told me if I didn't get an epi, she was going to do a c-section. I told her no epi. and she said "fine then you will hemmorage and have to have a transfusion." She threatened the c-section again, and I said fine order the epi.
She went out of the room to order it, and I changed the postion. Wow, that was all it took, She was there. I yelled theat she was coming and they ran and got the nurse. By the time the nurse got there Jayna was crowning. I had to wait for the dr. and nurse to glove up. AWW! Trying to not push as you wait is the hardest thing in the world. In less then 3 contractions she was out.
(the Doctor seemed pretty pissy about the fact she was wrong about the epi, and the transfusion, but me and my very awesome nurse were delighted)
She is beautiful. Black hair, Big almond shaped brown eyes (although they seemed bluer today), She was such a pretty newborn too, She had no birth trauma or bruising, no cone head, and came out so clean.
Now she has developed some jaundice, so we go to the Dr. tommrow. She is laying with her daddy on the couch right now.
She already is eating like a champ. She latched on right after birth and did so great.

She is our miracle baby...... I am so in love!

Yayayayayay! Congratulations on your new little blessing!

My assistant principal and his family came to school the same time I did today and they just had another little one in March, in addition to their 1 1/2 year old, Ben. I'm so in love! Both Ben and his brother are absolutely adorable...I told Dan that he and his wife need to have 3 more and that I'd take the "leftovers"...lol.

Congratulations again, oh sleepless wonder mom!
