Sorry Joey, I wish I could help ya out. It's pretty hot in herre (Nelly style) too. I've got an air conditioner, but I still have to set it up. My fridge is stocked with plenty of cold drinks and I keep my windows open and fans going. I hope everythings goin' OK for you and J.

Is the outside unit covered? or full of dust?? Try changing the filter...

Try making sure that the switch on the thermostat is set to cool not heat or fan!

You could be low on Freon. If that is the case your unit is probably frozen up. The coil could be dirty too if you haven't changed your filter regularly. If you aren't adventurous call the a/c guy. If you are check out the how things work site Link and you can get a good idea of where these things are located. If the coils are frozen the air might be cool but not cold and it won't be blowing very much air. If you need Freon you will have to call a professional and since Freon isn't sold anymore it will be expensive. $200-$300 to fill it. If you have a leak that could be wasted money or a temporary fix. If your coils are dirty you can clean them yourself with a brush you can get at a home store and a vacuum.

The best way to check for frozen coils is to check the air flow after it has been on for a while. Then turn the unit off for a couple of hours and then turn it on again and see if the airflow is better.

Thanks guys we fixed it. I guess the a/c installers didnt flip the on switch on the out side unit when it was installed. Unfortunatly we didn't figure this out until this afternoon... so last night was miserable. But now the A/c is a blowing and I am much more comfy.
