Contraction reaction...

Another trip to L&D

Yesterday I started having a lot of hard contractions, that came every five-eight minutes, so off to L&D we went.
When they hooked me up to the moniter I couldn't believe how much I was contracting, I had only been marking the strong ones.
They checked my cervix, which was "tunneling" but not dialated, and ran some tests. While waiting for the tests they gave me a shot to relax my uterus, but it didn't work long. I had about a 20 minute period with no strong contractions, then they started back up.

So another shot and some anti-biotics (there was bacteria in my urine that they thought may be irritating my uterus). That finally got me down to contractions at least 15 minutes apart, and not as strong.

They let me come home this morning, but now I am on partial bed rest. At least they let me get up and shower and sit around the house. I don't have to stay in bed, I can sit on the couch and outside. I have to moniter my contractions and go back to L&D if they start up strong again. But now I can't go anywhere really, not to work or the store. Just home and the doctor. I guess it is good we just moved to the same city as my family as I think I will have to call up my parents and sister to bring me lunches!

I am hoping to bake this baby for at least 2 1/2 more weeks. Then I will be at 36 weeks, which is a much healthier gestational age for delivery.

Aww, Joey...I wish I was there, I'd bring you lunch and keep you company for a while!

You've done an excellent job carrying this little chickie. 2 1/2 weeks more would be nice, yes...but if things happen before then she'll do just fine. At least your doctors have a handle on things and can be prepared for an earlier delivery if necessary.

I'll be sending good thoughts and vibes your way, honey! Keep your chin and your feet up!
