It is Thursday evening and I am on day three of a migrane.

I am on my break of hours of dark and silence, which seem not to help the horrible pain in my head.

Any migrane tips, or tips to help dizziness and nausea would be apprecitaed.

I think I may go to the ER in a few hours if it won't subside a bit.

I have to go for now, the lights are killing me.

my mum used to get those. you poor girl. she swears by laying in a dark room, blindfolded, and stroking an animal in rhythm (lowers your blood pressure, apparently). but there must be no light at all.

for nausea, if you have lemons, squeezing half a fresh lemon into a glass of very cold water then sipping it worked for my sister when she was pregnant. can you have citrus ?. if not, grated apple works well (chew it slowly), and anything with ginger is good too (ginger tea, fresh ginger, etc). all depends on what foods you like/can tolerate. if you're feling very ill, you can breathe into a paper bag a few times and re-breathe the same air (only for 4 or so breaths). sometimes that can help.

also, don't drink anything hot, and don't keep your body too heated (just be comfortable). try to keep your breathing regular. if your mind won't stop, play soft music, or set your radio on low between stations to get the soft fuzz noise to distract you. and try to sleep.

hope you feel better soon

Thanks for the great Ideas... I will be sure to use them next time the migranes call. I decided last night to go to the hospital and let them shoot me with a cocktail of drugs, which helped.
