A few weeks ago Jaysen bought a ridicously expensive Ipod. To be honest I didn't see the whole big deal about them. (Istill don't really) But he really digs it, and he deserves nice things.

But last night I decided to check out I-tunes, and I was impressed. It ws easy to navigate, had previews of all the songs and had whole cds I wanted to buy from 4-10 dollars. I didn't buy and albums, but I did buy a few songs.

The song quality was excellent, you can store the songs on your compouter, burn them on an unlimited # of CD's or store them in you i pod.

So check it out, it is time to start paying for our music people!

I've been wondering about the online music services for a while... Can you tell me, what format is the music file? If it's not mp3, can it be converted? When you burn to CD is it in audio style (playable on any CD player)? I ask because I have a CD player that plays regular CD's and also disks with mp3/wma files and I also have a Rio mp3 player. I've also been toying with the idea of buying an iPod, too, but I'll have to hold off on that for a bit.

Thanks in advance.

OK, that's probably more accurate... I'd probably be more motivated to learn if I had broadband... in 9 months of dial service, my fastest hookup has been 26.4...

you could always steal satellite access from unwitting DirecTV subscribers... (not that I advocate anything illegal)

I think that the Itunes are mp3 files. They burn easily onto a CD, and are easily transfered to an MP3 player. It only takes 10-25 seconds to download each song with DSL.

Oh I stand corrected, I guess that Itunes are a AAC file.

AAC file.

those are smaller than MP3 no? Nice to see you again janders...

I honestly have NO idea.

Sebastian has been using ITunes a lot lately, and as far as I know.. the files that Itunes creates are not mp3 files, but they are smaller and sound better. Also apparently you can use the Itunes program to burn cds and such and it will automatically convert their files to be burned and they sound good.

THis is just what I've been told. Im a little bit iffy on the whole thing yet, because I have had bad experiences with Windows Media which will also rip and burn but creates its own file which doesn't play in anything and sounds TERRIBLE.

iTunes is great, although I use Napster because my dad works at Roxio and he receives 120 credits for songs each year. Sadly, my mother used most of them... on songs we already have.
I bought a used iPod on eBay, and I love it. It's simply millions of times better than the old CD player I had.

The sound quality with I tunes is very impressive. It sounds better then any old Mp3
