Jayna has been waking up with a dry diaper a lot lately. I have read a bit about ec-ing (mostly because I thought it was a joke) and thought she would maybe like to be diaper free somtimes. So last week when she woke up dry I would stick a big cloth pre-fold under her and let her pee. That seemedto work pretty well! (But still left me with more diapers to wash) We were at target and they had little tiny infant potty chairs, so I picked one up. We brought it home, and let her sit on ...

Yesterday Little Jayna had a milestone. One that was certianly noticed, and yet there is no spot in the baby book to record such a feat! She had her first solid poo. A little formed turd right in her diaper. Is it weird that I felt the urge to record such a moment? I restrained myself from photographing the event... and instead sent it on its way to swim the mighty sewers..... Ahhh, My little baby is growing up...

My Grandma (Jayna's great-grandma) is a member of the local group of the red hat ladies. For those of you unfamilar with them, they are a group of ladies who lunch and do tons of social events (fashion shows, trips, plays and line dancing to name a few!) They all wear red and purple... complete with fancy red hats and often sparkles and feather boas! They are certianly a sassy group of ladies... We live near the senior center where the group often meets, so grandma often stops in for a vis...

I have been having a horrible last few days. On Thursday night we (Jayna and I) were at one of our moms groups and the most unimaginable thing happened. A baby died.... A little four week old boy stopped breathing. We thought he was sleeping, but he was not. I just can't believe this happened. We moved his tiny body to the floor and I began CPR. But I couldn't breathe life into this little one. I just can't believe it. To witness the death of such a short life, and not be able to do ...

In the 8 weeks since we have had our daughter we have gone through an unbelievable amount of diapers. Probably close to 500 if not more. The thought of all those going to a landfill and polluting the earth disgusts me. Not olny that but little Jayna has already had two minor diaper rashes on account that the diapers don't "breathe". So we are making the switch to cloth..... For those of you who remember the diaper, pin and rubber pants, those days are long gone. There are very fancy cloth...

We went to the Minnesota state fair yesterday with my sister and her boyfriend. What a fun time! Jayna spent most of the time riding in the mei tai and sling worn by me or my sister. We brought the stroller which ended up working well to carry all our stuff, even though Jayna didn't ride in it much. The best part was the food. I had Kettle corn, beef jerky, frozen grapes, cider freeze, and some honey sticks. The others had more traditional fair food. Corn dogs, french fries, and lemonades....

I have a new passion. Baby wearing. Little Jayna just loves to be worn. I am now the proud owner of a moby wrap, a 4 peas baby sling and a freehand mei tai asian baby carrier. I may buy another pretty sling next week. There are so many options for wonderful ways to wear your baby. I still want to get a pouch and a woven wrap... So much fun!

It seems like just yesterday I was whining that the summer was going by so slow. All my focus was on the fact my baby daughter had not arrived yet. What a whirlwind. I can't believe the summer is almost over! Pretty soon my husband will be back to teaching and I will have to start back at work. (part time) Jayna will be spaending three afternoons a week at grandma's and grandpas. I am distraught over this. The though of leaving my precious daughter for 12 hours a week, brings me to tea...

A Wisconsin woman gave birth to a baby that weighed almost 14 pounds this week. OUCH! She had a c-section, but that is a lot of baby! The baby doesn't even fit in newborn diapers or clothes and is already wearing size 3-6 months. ' I hope I have this baby before she gets that big! Look at the link to see the photo of one giant infant. http://www.themilwaukeechannel.com/news/4660578/detail.html?subid=22100414&qs=1;bp=t

Tonight Jay was working and I was BORED. I decided I would install the base and car seat in our car. It has the latch system, so I really had to follow the directions closely. It was harder than I thought, but mostly because it is really hard to crawl around the back seat when you have a belly the size of Montana. It took me a long time, because I was triple checking EVERYTHING. After almost an hour, I was sweating to death, but it was IN. It's in there so tight, so I hope I did it right!...

I had my check up today. Baby is down really low, and very effaced. My cervix is very soft and starting to dialate! YAY! She said maybe in the next week, but she doesn't see me going past 2 weeks. Thank goodness. I had gained more weight and the baby is estimated to be about 7 1/2 pounds right now. (the margin of error in their estimates is a pound either way.) She said I have a pretty decent sized baby, who seems to be growing very well. She thinks if I can get a lot of good strong co...

I think I should either stop answering the phone or change the message on our voice mail to go somthing like this.... "You have reached the Andersons, No Joey has not had the baby yet, and no we don't know when, If you are calling for any other reason please leave a message." You would think between 2 weeks of pre term labor, a full moon, a ton of walking, I would start laboring, but No. I think she will be staying in forever.

After 3 trips to L&D, Two shots to stop my labor, a few days of bedrest and not being allowed to work, my baby is finally full term. 37 weeks and 1 day. And I have NO signs of labor now. Go figure. My contractions are irregular and my cervix is closed. Baby has been in position for a few weeks now, but is apparently comfy staying put. Grrrr... I really want to meet this little one, and was hoping I would be in labor by now. Instead my doctor thinks it will be at least a week, and I am a bi...
